The journal Cuadernos de Economía de la Cultura embarks on a new stage with the aim of consolidating itself as a space for reflection and dialogue on the relationship between culture, economy, and development. This revival reaffirms its multidisciplinary vocation, opening its pages to perspectives that combine economic analysis with cultural studies, public policy, sociology, communication, and heritage management.
The first issue of 2025 will bring together contributions from universities and research centres in Italy, Spain, Colombia, and the United States. The articles will address topics such as the effects of digitalisation on cultural production, the sustainability of specialised media, public investment in heritage from a territorial perspective, international efforts to combat the illicit trafficking of cultural goods, arts management in rural contexts, and the protection of intangible heritage from a sustainability standpoint.
Published in both Spanish and English, this new phase strengthens the journal’s commitment to a broad and inclusive vision of cultural economics, in which theoretical, empirical, and policy-based approaches converge. The publication also seeks to strengthen its ties with the CORES Master’s Programme, offering a space for scientific exchange and academic collaboration that promotes new research lines and advanced training in the cultural field.
With this edition, Cuadernos de Economía de la Cultura reclaims its original vocation: to serve as a meeting point between academia, cultural management, and society, fostering critical and global thought on culture as a driver of development and collective well-being.
